The Oakland Studio Business Portrait

A little bit creative, a little bit professional.

Do you ever get an idea and then just can't let it go. I've been wanting to do a solo portrait session that is part business, part creative, just like this and when I met Nathana, a business professional she was up it. What I like about shooting in my Oakland studio on a minimal white backdrop is that all the focus is on the subject.  I'm really big on tapping into the persons energy and authentic self. The imagery that I want create is one of confidence and empowerment.

The Brooklyn Basin Creative Portrait Photoshoot

If I'm being honest, shooting wide and low to ground is my angle. I naturally gravitate towards this view point and love the perspective. If every creative portrait session called for this type of imagery I would be ok with that. All I knew going into this shoot was the outfit & the Location Oakland's own Brooklyn Basin. The rest was left up to my imagination. The sun was setting and we were getting the perfect golden hour. I decided to play off the blue cloudy sky and put her unique fashion style into motion.
